Alice Malseed

Alice is a theatre maker, writer and producer. Her work has appeared across the UK, Ireland, in Sri Lanka and New York. Most recently her play 'Three Pay Days' was produced by EastSide Arts and Kabosh Theatre. 

She is working on a short-story collection, a novel and has to play scripts in development. Alice works as Creative Producer for Tinderbox Theatre Company.

In August 2023, her play The Half Moon (dir by Emily Foran) was produced at Edinburgh Fringe (presented by Lyric Theatre Belfast, and Pleasance Edinburgh). Her short story ‘Mister Derek’ about an odd-couple relationship between a 32-year-old woman and a man in his 80s was commissioned and produced by BBC Radio 4, where it was selected for Radio 4 Pick of the Week.

Alice was part of BBC WritersRoom Belfast Voices group 2018-2019 and Lyric New Playwrights Programme 2018. She was awarded a Jerwood New Work Fund in 2019 to support her work and received the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival Theatre Award in January 2021. From 2022 – 2023 Alice was a resident Hatch Artist at the Mac, Belfast.
