Marlborough House Announcement

Following the recent announcement about Shankill Mission (the first of our two new buildings) Vault Artist Studios is now delighted to share our second new home ... Marlborough House!

This prominent city centre building will be home to about 70 artists & a multi-use gallery & exhibition space. At a time when many artist-led organisations are losing city centre locations we’re so excited to be bringing a Vault presence to the centre of town for the 1st time.

This prominent city centre building will be home to about 70 artists & a multi-use gallery & exhibition space. At a time when many artist-led organisations are losing city centre locations we’re so excited to be bringing a Vault presence to the centre of town for the 1st time.

This will be a meantime location, as redevelopment of the site is planned down the line, but rest assured that we will make the very most of the building in the time that we have it.

We’d like to sincerely thank the owners of Marlborough House, The Martin Property Group, for making the building available to us and for their help in making this move possible.

We’d also like to thank Orla Henry from Tughans (the previous tenant of the building) for all of her assistance with our many questions about the building ahead of the move.

It’s important that we acknowledge that whilst meantime use of buildings has allowed Vault to grow into the mighty force that it is today, that this model is not sustainable.  Like many other similar organisations we are exhausted by the precarious nature of the meantime model and the constant worry about finding new buildings on a regular basis.  Once our move is complete, we will redouble our efforts to find appropriate and affordable buildings with long-term security.

And we will continue to use our platform to advocate for a city where the arts are properly valued and sustainable.

For now though, we will be getting our heads down to focus on moving our artists to our two exciting new buildings.  The cost of doing all of this is massive, so please do consider donating to our Go Fund Me to help us out with this!
