As self-releasing musical artists - Beauty Sleep, we know that the best way to get your music heard, gain opportunties and build an online community is content creation!
The session will include some basics on how to capture content at different levels (phone vs camera: room mic vs multi-channel recording) with sepcifically music and performance in mind - live videos, music videos, behind the scenes, miming along and taking your song and making a moment of it. It will also invite a lot of group discussion and peer learning, as we can all learn from each other! This will be a full, busy, hands-on workshop!
Morning: 10 - 10.15: Intros and overview
10.15 - 10.40: Video capture: phones vs cameras
10.40 -11: Video editing software
11: Audio Capture: room mic vs mutlichannel recording
11.20: Audio editing: stem splitter / slight mixing in logic
11.40: Break
12 - 1pm: How to make the most of your online content: Plans, Platforms and making the most of a release
1 - 1.45 Lunch
Afternoon:
1.45 - 2pm: Overview for next session
2pm - Group work: capturing content as a team (using whatever tools they have)
3pm - Editing and posting content as a team
4pm - Reflections on the day, group discussion
5pm - Close
This workshop is open to all artists working across various artforms. The ticket price includes a simple vegetarian lunch plus break snacks.
