Marlborough House is home to 70 Vault artists plus our public facing Gallery & Project space. Each month we show a new multidisciplinary exhibition alongside a busy programme of events, workshops, talks, screenings and meet-ups throughout the year.

Getting here -

Visiting: Marlborough House is only open to the public during our regular exhibtions, workshops or events. Full details of these can be found on our Events or Artist development pages. If you wish to visit Marlborough House outside of these times please contact staff@vaultartiststudios.com.

We welcome dogs on leads.

Walk: Marlborough House is in Belfast City centre, nestled between Malmaison Hotel and Albert Clock. A two minute walk from Cathedral Quarter and 8 minutes from Belfast City Hall.

Taxi drop off: The front of Marlborough House on Victoria St does not have an area to pull over in a car. Taxis can pull in and stop on Marlborough St just to the right of our building. There are dropped curbs for wheelchair users.

Bus: You can easily travel here by public transport. We are a 30 second walk from Laganside bus station and Custom House Square which are major bus hubs.

Train: Our nearest train station is Lanyon Place, a 14 minute walk or 6 minute Glider bus ride. Grand Central station is a 25 minute walk through the city centre. Check Translink or Google Maps for the latest directions.

Bicycle: There are two nearby Belfast Bikes stations at Donegall Quay and Cotton Court. BelfastBikes

Car & Parking: Marlborough House is situated on a busy, 4 lane, one way street, making it more tricky to reach by car. We have 4 on-street parking spots right outside our building on Victoria St and two to the side on Marlborough St which are usually full. It’s best to head to one of the many nearby car parks.

Here are a few recommendations: Exchange Street or Corporation Street, BT1 are close by and council owned - 80p per hour, no time limit, take coins or card. Hi Park Centre multi-storey car park, High Street, BT1 2JZ. Privately owned, £3 ph.

Marlborough House

Marlborough House is our new premises in Belfast’s city centre. Affectionately known among members as “Marly” it’s home to some 70 artists across multiple disciplines.

At a time when many artist-led organisations are losing city centre locations we’re so excited to be bringing a Vault presence to the centre of town for the first time. Marlborough House is home to our first public facing gallery & project space in the city centre.

As with our building on Tower Street, although we hoped to stay there longer, this will also be a meantime location with plans for redevelopment coming down the line. It’s important that we acknowledge that while meantime use of buildings has allowed Vault to grow into the force that it is today, this model is not sustainable. Like many other similar organisations, we are exhausted by the precarious nature of the meantime model and the constant worry about finding new buildings on a regular basis but rest assured that we will make the very most of the building in the time that we have it, and we will continue to use our platform to advocate for a city where the arts are properly valued and sustainable.

Keep up to date with upcoming events in Vault Artist Studios by signing up to our monthly newsletter.

We’d like to thank the owners of Marlborough House, The Martin Property Group, for making the building available to us and for their help in making this move possible.
