Marlborough House
Marlborough House is our new premises in Belfast’s city centre. Affectionately known among members as “Marly” it’s home to some 70 artists across multiple disciplines.
At a time when many artist-led organisations are losing city centre locations we’re so excited to be bringing a Vault presence to the centre of town for the first time.
As with our building on Tower Street, although we hoped to stay there longer, this will also be a meantime location with plans for redevelopment coming down the line. It’s important that we acknowledge that while meantime use of buildings has allowed Vault to grow into the force that it is today, this model is not sustainable. Like many other similar organisations, we are exhausted by the precarious nature of the meantime model and the constant worry about finding new buildings on a regular basis but rest assured that we will make the very most of the building in the time that we have it, and we will continue to use our platform to advocate for a city where the arts are properly valued and sustainable.
Keep up to date with upcoming events in Vault Artist Studios by signing up to our irregular newsletter.
We’d like to sincerely thank the owners of Marlborough House, The Martin Property Group, for making the building available to us and for their help in making this move possible.
